• Amanpreet Singh Gill, born in 1989 from Punjab, is a right arm medium pacer.

• He played for the Punjab cricket team and was selected to the Under-19 Indian squad as a youngster.

• He played in six under-19 ODIs, taking nine wickets off 14.11 average, two wickets in two under-19 Tests.

• In his only youth appearance in Test cricket, he bowled out former Sri Lanka all-rounder Thisara Perera.

• Gill picked up nine wickets in five innings at an average of 9.44 in the 2007 tri-series in Sri Lanka featuring Sri Lanka Under-19 and Bangladesh Under-19.

• He grabbed 2/14 in six overs against Bangladesh under-19 in Colombo en route to a 129-run victory.

• During this period, he also had the opportunity to play in England and Malaysia with India under 19’s team.

• In spite of his excellent performance at the Under-19 level, Gill was just missed out of the 2008 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

• Gill’s domestic career consisted of six first-class appearances for Punjab in 2006-08 which he helped his team win with the bat and 11 wickets, including an impressive 4/72, and 42 runs with the ball.
