Some Lesser Known Facts About Salim Dola

• Salim Dola was born in a middle-class family in the Byculla, Mumbai.

• As a teen, he entered Mumbai’s underworld. Later he became friend of don Chhota Shakeel, who was a member of Dawood Ibrahim‘s D-company at that time.

• Salim started his smuggling career, where he smuggled gutkha (tobacco) across Mumbai and Delhi. Soon, he ventured into ganja (marihuana) trafficking.

• In 2012, Salim Dola was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau with a consignment of 80 kilograms of marijuana. In 2017, he was acquitted by the court.

• After releasing from prison, Salim met, Kailash Rajput, a fugitive drug supplier of India. With the help of Rajput, he stepped into the world of synthetic drugs and began manufacturing a synthetic drug known as “Button.” This drug is manufactured by using dangerous opioids such as Fentanyl and is sold in the form of tablets or pills.

• In 2018, Salim Dola was again arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai Police in Santacruz with 100Kgs of Fentanyl. However, within four months, he was granted bail, after the forensic report stated that the samples were tested negative.

• After getting the bail, Salim Dola fled India and shifted to United Arab Emirates, where he established a real estate business under his son Tahir’s name.

• While residing in UAE, he used forged UAE ID to avoid detention.

• Salim Dola’s son Taher and his nephew Mustafa Mohammad Kubbawala also involved in drug smuggling. In 2025, with the help of the Interpol framework, Mumbai Crime Branch deported them from UAE.

• Over years, Salim Dola grew ties with underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim and became one of the largest manufacturer of synthetic drug, Fentany.

• In 2024, a red corner notice was issued against Salim. He was a most wanted criminal in Mumbai Police, and the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad in multiple cases.

He was heading factories that were producing MDMA in bulk across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh. He became a big challenge for the authorities because of his solid network. Securing raw material, setting up of factories, swift distribution was all controlled by him and his network. His entire network was tracked, one by one and many arrests were made. Last year, his son, Taher, and nephew, Mustafa Mohammad Kubbawala, were deported from the UAE which weakened his network.”

• In April 2026, Salim Dola was detained by Turkey in a joint operation by Turkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation and local police.

• On 30 April 2026, he was brought to India and kept at the Narcotics Control Bureau’s RK Puram office. According to NCB, he will later be handed over to the Mumbai and Gujarat police, where cases against him are registered, after intensive interrogation at an undisclosed location..
