The mayor of Dupnitsa Parvan Dangov has been brought in as a defendant for threatening an official or a representative of the public during or on the occasion of the performance of his office or function, announced the district prosecutor’s office – Kyustendil.

On March 15, Dangov sent a threat by phone to the head of the police, ch. inspector Yordan Zarev with the words: “If you want war, there will be war. I will finish you and ruin you and your family”.

Dangov was not arrested, and he was not remanded in custody. He appeared for the indictment with two lawyers and for now has reserved his right not to give explanations.

Sufficient evidence of Parvan Dangov’s guilt has been collected in the case, the prosecutor’s office insists.
