Syndrome girl group ‘NewJeans’ sold out their Tokyo Dome fan meeting before their official debut in Japan. Her popularity is also confirmed by Min Hee-jin, CEO of her agency Adore, and Naehong of Hive, Adore’s parent company.

According to the agency ADOR on the 14th, all tickets for the second session of the New Jeans fan meeting ‘Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome’, which will be held at Tokyo Dome in Japan on the 26th and 27th of next month, are sold out. The exact capacity has not been disclosed, but considering the number of people attending previous concerts held here, it is expected to reach 100,000 people.

New Jeans entered the Tokyo Dome one year and 11 months after their debut. This is the shortest period since his debut as an overseas artist. Adore said, “It is very rare for a group that has not yet officially debuted in Japan to fill the Tokyo Dome so quickly.”

New Jeans’ status and influence in Japan has already been proven on several stages. New Jeans performed on the main stage of Japan’s representative music festival ‘Summer Sonic’ in August of last year, and at the time, the 12 PM performance at Marine Stadium had such a big impact that audience admission was restricted at the earliest in the festival’s history.

In addition, New Jeans was invited to Japan’s largest year-end song festival, NHK’s ‘Red and White Song Battle’, and performed a special stage. He performed three complete songs on the year-end stage of the TBS ‘Japan Record Awards’. This also became a hot topic as it was an unprecedented treatment given to a foreign artist who did not officially debut in Japan. Also, at the awards ceremony, they were nominated for the grand prize, which is unusual for a K-pop group.

Previously, Japan’s NHK highlighted New Jeans along with Yoasobi in a special documentary titled ‘Songs that Reverberate Around the World ~ The New Era of Korea-Japan POPS’.

New Jeans will release their Japanese debut single ‘Supernatural’ on June 21st. This single contains a total of 4 songs, including the title song of the same name, ‘Supernatural’, the b-side song ‘Right Now’, and each song’s instrumental.
In particular, ‘Supernatural’ is a song in which American pop star and producer Pharrell Williams is listed in the credits. This song took the ad-libs and bridge from Williams’ collaboration with Japanese singer Manami in 2009, ‘Back of My Mind’, and producer Lee Gong (250) reinterpreted it in a new jack swing style. ‘Light Now’ attracted attention as it was partially released as a Lotte ZERO advertising CM song on the 9th.

New Jeans will perform 24 songs, including the new domestic double single ‘How Sweet’, which will be released on the 24th, and new songs (4 songs) that will be released soon, at the Tokyo Dome fan meeting. Additionally, Japanese mixed duo YOASOBI and singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama will appear as special guests.

Previously, New Jeans is warming up its Japanese debut activities by announcing a series of collaborations with cultural and artistic giants such as Murakami Takashi and Hiroshi Fujiwara. In addition, a large photo of New Jeans was hung at Shibuya 109, a large shopping mall in Tokyo, Japan, and a pop-up store was opened, creating great enthusiasm.

New Jeans is raising expectations by pre-releasing the music video for ‘Bubble Gum’, a song included in ‘How Sweet’, on the 27th of last month. ‘Bubblegum’ topped the popular music video category on YouTube’s Korea Weekly (counting period from May 3 to May 9), taking first place for two consecutive weeks, and maintaining its top spot on the global weekly charts as well.
