Nearly two crore people have tried for tickets for the upcoming April 7 train journey on Eid Yatra. On this day, 32 thousand 591 tickets were allocated from Dhaka for the passengers in the train. Of this, more than 28,000 tickets have been sold till 6 pm. 8.2 lakhs were attempted during the peak hours of 8 am to 8:30 am for tickets for the western region. Passengers tried 7.4 million times during the peak hour from 2:00 to 2:30 a.m. That means around 500 attempts against each ticket.

Sandeep Debnath, chief executive officer of Sahaj.com, which is in charge of managing the Railseva app, told the media on Thursday (March 28).

Earlier, in the morning Kamalapur Railway Station Manager Masud Sarwar said, this Eid, today’s regular tickets for the western region are 15 thousand 933. And 16 thousand 100 tickets for the eastern region. However, on the occasion of Eid, the special train that will run on the 7th, will add 500 more tickets for the two regions.

According to Railways, tickets for 42 pairs of inter-city trains leaving Dhaka this year are being given in two stages. On the occasion of Eid, these advance tickets are being sold completely online. Now tickets are being given through OTP verification on mobile. All arrangements have been made to keep the Eid journey orderly.

Tickets for April 8 travel will be available on March 29 and tickets for April 9 travel will be available on March 30. 33 thousand 500 intercity train tickets are opened online every day this Eid. At the same time, it has been decided to run eight special trains during Eid.

Note that among the western regions, North Bengal, Greater Mymensingh area trains have the highest demand for tickets. And the demand for train tickets in Chittagong, Sylhet and Khulna regions in the eastern region is high.
