After an arrest warrant was issued more than three weeks ago, former Detroit Lions player Cameron Sutton turned himself in to Florida police to face accusations of domestic abuse.

According to ESPN, on March 7, the warrant was issued, and on March 20, police requested assistance from the public to locate Sutton. At 8:24 p.m. local time on Sunday, he was booked into the Orient Road Jail in Tampa, Florida.

A third-degree offence, domestic battery by strangulation is punishable by a maximum five-year jail sentence. It is not known who is the victim so far.

After graduating from Jonesboro, Georgia, high school, Sutton played collegiately at the University of Tennessee. He was chosen by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
