He later played for SV Austria Salzburg, now called Red Bull Salzburg, where he won the Austrian championship three times and reached the 1993–94 UEFA Cup final. Adi Hütter last played for the Red Bull Juniors in 2007 after retiring due to a persistent Achilles injury.

Aside from a direct play style, good communication with his players is everything for Hütter. Hütter can speak multiple languages and during his time at Frankfurt, he shared how he was jealous of former Rennes man and Switzerland international Gelson Fernandes’s language skills. He stated:

I would have liked to have been Gelson Fernandes, I’m even a little bit jealous. I’m impressed by how many languages he speaks; he can talk to anyone. I think that’s brilliant.”
