Minister of Religion Md. Faridul Haque Khan said, we are free today because Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at Khatme Koran and Dua Mahfil on the occasion of Great Independence and National Day at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka on Tuesday (March 26). The event was organized by the Islamic Foundation.

The Minister of Religion said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working tirelessly to fulfill her father’s dream. He has set the goal of building a developed prosperous smart Bangladesh by 2041. We all have to work together to achieve this goal.

He also said, ‘There are about 25 thousand Hafeez in Bangladesh now. These birds of the Qur’an are re-introducing our nation to the world court.’ The Minister of Religion urged the concerned to continue this trend.

Among others, Additional Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Religion. A. Awal Howlader, Additional Chief Engineer. Najibur Rahman, ASM Shafiul Alam Talukder, project director of mosque-based children and mass education programs were present.

Later special prayers were offered for the souls of martyred freedom fighters including Bangabandhu and for the peace, prosperity and progress of the country.
