Hate speech in election rally
Umar campaigned with his brother Abbas during the 2022 Uttar Pradesh state elections and took part in a rally at Mau. It was later alleged that they made hate speech and threatened government officials with a payback. Later, an FIR was filed against Umar, Abbas, and many others under IPC sections 171F (Punishment for undue influence or impersonation at an election rally and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation).
