Ukraine has received 1.5 billion dollars within the framework of the World Bank program for financial support of the country. This was announced today by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, quoted by Reuters.

He indicated that the tranche will be used to stabilize the revenue part of the Ukrainian budget, as well as for payments in the social sphere, BTA reported.

Ukraine relies on the financial assistance of its Western partners, as a significant part of its budget revenue is allocated to defense needs against the background of Russian military aggression in the country, according to Reuters.

“(Within the financial aid – note ed.) about 984 million dollars have been provided by Japan, and 516 million dollars by the United Kingdom. These funds will be used for budget expenditures with a social and humanitarian focus, as well as for the reconstruction of infrastructure “.
