‘Those who say India out, are out of the people’ – 2024-03-29 07:14:44

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said, even in this month of independence, we are seeing attempts to muddy the waters again. What kind of people have we become if we forget the way the Indian government, the people of India helped us during the great liberation war. Those who are chanting anti-India slogans, saying India out, are today out of the people of the country. They are pro-Pakistan and want to establish the ideology of Pakistan.

He said these things while addressing the chief guest at a discussion meeting titled ‘Historical leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and development of the country’ organized by the Ministry of Shipping on the occasion of the celebration of the Great Independence and National Day at the BIWTA building in the capital on Wednesday (March 27).

Commenting that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed with his family to pay for the defeat of 71 and to kill a country, the Minister of Naval Affairs said, ‘Today, Sheikh Hasina, the heir of his blood, has led Bangladesh to that desired goal. A lot of water has flown after 75. If we want to go back to the place of 75’s and liberation war – no. Because the society has become very chaotic. There is chaos in education, there is chaos in the economy. Everything is adulterated. Purification of this contamination is difficult. In spite of this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking Bangladesh forward.

He said, ‘those who want to generalize Bangabandhu cannot tolerate the development of Bangladesh, the progress of the country. Why did the Sonar Bangla of Bangabandhu’s dream become Sonar Bangla, why did Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla go to a wonderful place in the world, why did Bangladesh become a role model for development in the world is their big problem. They don’t want this development. They do not want the country to develop and become self-reliant, so they try to belittle Bangabandhu in various ways.’

Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said, ‘Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib made this country independent, many people have struggled for this freedom. Freedom did not come from anyone’s words. The city of London was built with the wealth of this Bengal, the city of Calcutta was built with the wealth of this Bengal. Islamabad was built with the resources of this Bengal. But the fate of the people of this country has not changed. Bangabandhu knew that and wanted to change that. He wanted to establish my rights with my wealth. These looters who looted the wealth of the country will not want to allow this country to establish the rights of Bengal again.’

He said, ‘Bangladesh is no one’s country, this country is a country of 16 crore people. Bangabandhu gifted this country to us. Our duty is to make this country stand tall. Stand with self-respect. It is not a matter of dignity to go from door to door of the world’s donors with a bag of alms. Today, Padma Bridge is a place of honor for us. Heads of government, heads of state of different countries of the world who come to this country want to see the Padma bridge. The King of Bhutan has arrived, he is going to see the Padma Bridge. The whole world wants to know what development Sheikh Hasina has made.

He also said, ‘It is a matter of great pride for us that Bangladesh was created in 1971 under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Today Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has taken the country to the Himalayas of development, it is our great achievement. It is our great duty to retain it on Independence Day.’

At the beginning of the program, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of the martyred hero of the great liberation war, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his martyred family members.
