MUMBAI: MTV Roadies is one of the longest-running and most-viewed reality shows. This youth show has an immense fan following, and many dream about becoming a Roadie. However, being a Roadie is not a piece of cake. Right from group interview to personal interview rounds; it takes a lot to be on a journey of being a Roadie and winning the title.
Last season, the concept had been changed. The ‘life’ of the show, Rannvijay wasn’t a part of it. The actor was replaced by Sonu Sood. Also, last season was all about ex-contestants vs new contestants. One new roadie contestant was paired up with an ex-contestant to perform the task.
This season, the concept of gang leaders is back; Rhea Chakraborty, Prince Narula and Gautam Gulati will be the new leaders of the show. Gautam Gulati shared a video where one can see how they have reached Delhi for the auditions.
Rhea Chakraborty , who has long been away from the screen, made a smashing return as a new gang leader in MTV Roadies 19 . After the death of her actor-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput , she faced a lot of criticism and was even slapped with charges of abetment of suicide and cheating. Hence, she kept herself away from all media glare for almost two years and has now returned to work. She will be joined by Prince Narula and Gautam Gulati on the show.
Taking to her Instagram handle, she dropped the teaser of the upcoming new season of a youth-based reality show. In the short clip, she said, “Aapko kya laga main waapis nahi aaungi, darr jaungi?huh. Darne ki baari ab kisi aur ki hai, milte hai auditions pe”(What did you think, I will not come back, I will be scared? It’s someone else’s turn to be scared, see you at the auditions). “Sambhal ke rehna hai ya darr ke? Jo bhi ho ignore nahi kar paoge!,” she captioned the post.
Soon after, the netizens spammed the comment section with reactions. One user wrote, “I just hate her.. iss baar gang leaders Gautam, prince ko dekh ke bahuth kush thi, after seeing Rhea Chakraborty, i will never watch it.” Another commented, “I Don’t understand why people are so prejudiced, why to drag any past hatred to an upcoming show, See her work in the show and then judge and hate.” “even i don’t like her but all the best @rhea_chakraborty for new journey i wish you prove everyone wrong including me,” stated another user.
The brand-new season is themed ‘Karm Ya Kaand’ and is hosted by Sonu Sood. Talking about it, Rhea told IANS, “I am thrilled to be a part of MTV Roadies Karm Ya Kaand, which is an iconic cultural phenomenon. I look forward to working with Sonu Sood and my fellow gang leaders, as I get to showcase my resolute and fearless side during this thrilling journey. I hope to receive love and support from fans for this incredible new adventure!” Meanwhile, Rhea was last seen in the 2021 film, Chehre, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in prominent roles.
