Some Lesser Known Facts About Krishna Mohan

• Krishna Mohan is a retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of the 1978 batch from the Maharashtra cadre.

• Mohan hails from Chandrapur village in the Shahabad Assembly constituency of Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh.

• He completed his higher education at Lucknow University.

• Krishna Mohan began his professional career in the Atomic Energy Department before joining the Indian Forest Service in 1978.

• During his long administrative career, he served in several important and forest management posts in Maharashtra.

• He became known for his disciplined working style, impartial decision-making, and ability to solve administrative problems practically. His former colleagues described his working style as “no friendship, no fear.”

• Krishna Mohan also joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), while he was posted in Nagpur as an IFS officer, Initially he joined the Sangh as a senior functio.

• In 2012, he retired from his IFS service as an Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest.

• After his retirement, Krishna Mohan moved back to his hometown and became actively involved in social service in his area.

• In 2014, Krishna Mohan became RSS city Sangh leader of Hardoi

• In 2017, he was appointed as the district Sangh leader and the provincial Sangh leader in 2020.

• In 2023, he became the regional Sangh leader for eastern Uttar Pradesh.

• In 2025, Mohan was promoted to the post of Purvi Uttar Pradesh Kshetra Sangh Sanchalak of RSS and given the responsibilities for Awadh, Kanpur, Gorakh and Kashi prants. His appointment was important as the RSS has only 11 Khsetra sangh sanchalak positions across the country.

• In January 2024, during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhaya, Krishna Mohan and his wife were among the selected “yajmans” (hosts) for the religious rutuals.

• On 9 September 2025, Mohan was appointed as a permanent trustee of the Shri ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Ayodhya after the death of previous trustee Kameshwar Chaupal.

• On 15 September 2025, he formally received his appointment letter as a trustee of the Trust.

• On 6 July 2026, after the resignation of previous General Secretary Champat Rai, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has appointed Krishna Mohan as its interim General Secretary.

• His appointment come after the Trust accepted the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra in the wake of the alleged donation theft case.

• As interim General Secretary, Krishna will oversee the Trust’s day-to-day functioning until permanent arrangements are made.

• Soon after taking the charge, Mohan said that anyone who found guilty in donation theft case would face strict legal action, regardless of their position. In an interview, he said,

There were certain shortcomings in the system which were exploited by others. I have been entrusted with the responsibility of discharging the duties of general secretary in an acting capacity until a new general secretary is appointed. Anyone found guilty in this matter, we will insist and remain firm in our insistence that they receive appropriate punishment in accordance with justice. We are all deeply pained by the events that have transpired; everyone has suffered, including the devotees of Ram.”

I will make every effort to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future. The prevailing atmosphere has somewhat tarnished the image of our Trust, giving rise to a sense of mistrust within society. We will take all necessary steps to dispel this negative perception and rebuild trust within the community.”

• Along with Krishna Mohan, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust also decided to strengthen its administrative system by appointing a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) having professional management experience to improve financial loopholes and governance of the trust.
