• Biswa Bandhu Sen grew up in Dharmanagar, Tripura.

• In 2008, Sen contested and won the Tripura Legislative Assembly elections from the Dharmanagar constituency on a ticket from the INC. He defeated the CPI(M) candidate Amitabha Datta with 51.65% of the votes.

• He again defeated Amitabha Datta in the 2013 Tripura Legislative Assembly elections with 50.99% of the votes.

• In 2017, Biswa Bandhu Sen left the INC and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

• In 2018, he won the Tripura Legislative Assembly elections with 57.21% of the votes, defeating the CPI(M) candidate Abhijit De.

• In 2023, Sen defeated the INC candidate Chayan Bhattacharya in the Tripura Legislative Assembly elections with 49.35% of the votes.

• Sen passed away at the age of 72 on 26 December 2025 due to a cerebral stroke. He was undergoing treatment at Aster CMI Hospital in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
