Bangladeshi stars dominated the Filmfare awards in India – 2024-03-30 08:15:56

The grand event of this year’s Filmfare Awards Bangla 2024 was held in Kolkata. In this year’s event, starting from the nominations, the Bangladeshi stars showed great power in the awards.

This year saw a record of five nominations for acting and music. Three of them won the award.

Filmfare Awards Bangla 2024 was held at ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata on Friday (March 29) to reward the best of the movies released in Tollywood in 2023. Bangladeshi actresses Jaya Ahsan, Tasnia Farin and actor Sohail Mondal have won Filmfare Awards, India’s Oscars this year.

According to Hindustan Times, Jaya Ahsan was nominated in two categories at this year’s event. Among them, Jaya was selected as the best actress in a supporting role due to her impeccable performance in Kaushik Ganguly’s ‘Ardhangini’. This actress won Filmfare four times with this.

Tasnia Farin won the Best New Actress Award for ‘Roo Ek Prithivi’. And Sohail Mondal won the best new actor for the movie ‘Janjal’.

Tollywood actress Subhasree and her husband director Raj Chakraborty presented the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. After receiving the award, an excited Jaya told the media, ‘I have received it before in the critical and popular category. But this is my first in this branch. Thanks and gratitude to all my team. Thanks to all the viewers, well-wishers and journalists of West Bengal and Bangladesh for giving me love.’

Actress Tasnia Farin said, ‘This is not only my first film in Kolkata but also the first film of my career. Thanks Filmfare, thanks SK Movies. Thanks to producer Atanu Da for trusting me. My endless gratitude to the audience, for so much love and support.’

Sohail Mondal said, ‘My gratitude to the director Indranil Dada and the entire Mayer Janjal team for the movie for which I won the best debut actor award. I dedicate the award to all my theater colleagues and friends.’

Apart from these three, two more Bangladeshi stars were nominated for ‘Filmfare Awards Bangla 2024’ this year. They are actress Opi Karim and musician Mahatam Saqib. Opi Karim was nominated for Best Actress by critics. And Mahatam Shakib was nominated for the best singer list.
