Gymnasts may find it difficult to compete against the newest child on the block, Manila Esposito, an Italian teenage sensation, but fans of the sport are ready to see magic. 

In her own right, the 17-year-old has created history. Her performance is being compared to high profile gymnasts. On Thursday night at the Fiera Arena in Rimini, Italy’s home gymnasts experienced highs and lows, culminating in Esposito’s victory as the European all-around champion. 

British competitor Alice Kinsella won bronze (53.599), just ahead of another Italian, Angela Andreoli, while another countrywoman Alice D’Amato earned silver with 54.831 against Esposito’s dazzling 55.432. Who is Manila Esposito?

Manila Esposito is an Italian artistic gymnast who was born on November 3, 2006 in Boscotrecase, Italy. She is currently 17 years old. 

A look at Manila Esposito’s career so far 

Manila Esposito is the 2024 European Champion in the beam, the 2023 European Silver Medallist in the beam, and the 2024 European Champion in the floor exercises and balancing beam.

Additionally, the young rising star also participated in the squads that won the silver medal in the 2023 European Championship and the gold medal in the 2024 European Championship.

Esposito competed in the DTB Pokal Mixed Cup and guided the Italian squad to the bronze medal, narrowly defeating the US and Germany. She then competed in the City of Jesolo Trophy, finishing tenth overall with a final score of 51.200 in the all-around event. She was awarded the Joaquim Blume Memorial all-around title with a total score of 53.30. 

After Alice D’Amato and Martina Maggio, she placed third in the all-around competition at the Italian Championships. These are just some of her nanu records and achievements. Esposito competed in the Cottbus World Cup floor exercise and vault events.

In the vault final, she competed a Yurchenko 1.5 and a Podkopayeva for a 13.233 average, winning the gold medal. She clinched a silver medal in the floor final, trailing only Kokufugata Azuki of Japan.

Manila Esposito’s family? 

Manila Esposito once stated that her “parents and brothers, together with my grandparents, never miss a competition,” in an interview with Ginnasticando. The names of her parents isn’t known though.
