Chinese operator China Mobile has announced the launch of its 5G-Advanced network, also known as 5.5G. At the same time, Oppo announced that the flagship smartphones Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra, released in January, are already compatible with the new communication standard, reports the WCCFTech portal, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.

Oppo CEO Pete Lau posted an image of the Find X7 Ultra showing the 5GA symbol on the screen, confirming the device’s support for the new network. The 5G-Advanced standard allows download speeds of up to 10 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 1 Gbps.

It is planned that by the end of this year the new standard will be launched in 300 cities across China, and the first hundred will include Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Test sites are already available in some regions of China.

The 5.5G network also includes the use of satellite technologies, in connection with which Oppo introduced an updated flagship smartphone Find X7 Ultra with satellite support. The updated version costing 7,499 yuan received 16 GB of RAM and a built-in storage capacity of 1 TB.
