The President of the Republic stresses the importance of confronting the phenomena of organized crime and drug trafficking

The President of the Republic, Abdel Latif Gamal Rachid, stressed today, Thursday, the importance of mobilizing the necessary security and intelligence momentum to confront the phenomenon of organized crime and drug trafficking.

A statement issued by the Media Department of the Presidency of the Republic, received by the (INA), stated that “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, the head of the National Security Service, Abu Ali Al-Basri, and the Deputy Chief of the Intelligence Service.” Waqas Al-Hadithi.

He pointed out, “During the meeting, the latest developments in the political and security situation in Iraq and the region were reviewed, in addition to discussing the phenomenon of organized crime and drug trafficking in general and their negative effects on societies.”

The President of the Republic stressed “the necessity of coordination between the security services, exchanging information among them, and joint work to preserve the achievements achieved in the internal arena, in addition to controlling border security in cooperation with neighboring countries and concluding the security agreement to consolidate the security and stability of the region.”

He stressed “the importance of mobilizing the necessary security and intelligence momentum to confront and eliminate the phenomenon of organized crime and drug trafficking, purify society of its consequences, and activate communication mechanisms with citizens to activate the information aspect.”

For their part, the officials provided “an explanation of the activities of the security services and their plans on how to confront terrorism and organized crime at the internal and external levels,” praising “the valuable directives of the President of the Republic that will contribute to developing security performance and preserving the security and safety of citizens.”
