The legendary Dimitar Karov received a nomination for the Volleyball Hall of Fame. The International Volleyball Hall of Fame (IVHF) has announced nominations for 2024, and among them is that of the long-time national player of Bulgaria, CSKA player and best distributor in the world in the late 1960s.

Each of you volleyball fans can support him with your vote. If you want to support him, you can do so here:

The deadline for voting is April 14. The six nominees with the most votes from the public will receive an additional vote in the official ballot, from which the IVHF International Commission will select the prestigious Class of 2024 in Holyoke, Massachusetts (USA).

Also nominated in the “Men” category are: Ivan Milkovic (Serbia), Raul Quiroga (Argentina), Andrea Dzorzi (Italy) and Philippe Blain (France).

Karov can become the second Bulgarian in the “Hall of Fame” after Dimitar Zlatanov. Last year he celebrated his 80th anniversary. He has over 500 matches with the Bulgarian team, which he has played for 16 years. He came second at the World Men’s Championship in Sofia in 1970, and at the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972, he was one step away from the medals with our team’s fourth place.
