According to Vietnamese media Vn Express on the 28th (local time), Coach Park attended the launch ceremony of Bac Ninh FC of the Vietnamese second division, for which he is a technical advisor, the day before. Many people’s attention was focused on this as it was coach Park’s first official schedule after the dismissal of former Vietnam national team coach Philippe Trussier (69).

Earlier, coach Philippe Trussier was sacked as Vietnam was defeated 0-3 in the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup Asia 2nd qualifying round match against Indonesia held at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on the 26th.

At the time, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said, “Coach Trussier apologized for failing to meet the expectations of Vietnamese fans. In relation to this, Vn Express reported that at the launch ceremony, questions were raised regarding Coach Park’s return to Vietnam as head coach. Coach Park reportedly smiled and said, “Thank you,” and said, “I don’t want to answer questions about the national team.”

Former coach Park, who was appointed to the Vietnam national soccer team and U-23 national team in October 2017, remained in his position as coach for about five years until he stepped down after the AFF Championship in January last year. Meanwhile, Vietnam has risen to the top of Southeast Asia by setting various new records.

Accordingly, public opinion in Vietnam is boiling over in anticipation of Director Park’s return as director.

Meanwhile, it is said that Director Park has received directing offers from Thailand, Indonesia, China, etc., but he is not currently in the position of director.
