Some Lesser Known Facts About Dr Sunny Ashok

• Dr Sunny Ashok hails from the Pakhowal area of district Ludhiana in Punjab.

• He was brought up in a family of doctors. His father is also a Government medical officer.

• In an interview, Dr Sunny revealed that his father is a good friend of veteran Bollywood actor, Late Dharmendra.

• Dr Sunny Ashok came into the news after the release of the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026). He played a cameo role in the film.

• On 8 July 2025, during the shooting of Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026) in Ludhiana, Dr Sunny, when posted at the government health facility in Kalakh village, was called to treat Arjun Rampal‘s head injury. In an interview, he said,

There was panic as it seemed Arjun would need scans and hospitalisation. However, the injury was not serious. I checked his reflexes. All were happy that he was okay.”

• After his job, he wanted to take a picture with Ranveer Singh, so he approached him and asked for a picture. To this Ranveer Singh passed a remark to him stating that they will also be taking Dr Sunny in the film. He said,

I asked Ranveer for a photo, at which he put his arm around my shoulder and said, ‘Brother, why just a photo, we will take you in the movie.”

“I thought he was joking.”

• Within three days, the shooting team called Dr Sunny when a schedule was underway at Shahnewal Airport and cast him for a cameo role.

• In an interview, Dr Ashok revealed that director Aditya Dhar explained on the spot that a scene required an injured Ranveer Singh to receive medical attention as he deplaned.

• In an interview, Ashok said,

The shot was done in a single take. Dhar congratulated me for acting natural, saying I never looked into the camera and behaved exactly as a doctor would when seeing an injured Indian hero de-boarding a plane.”
