• Her maternal grandfather grew up in Masantol, Pampanga, Philippines. During World War II, he joined the service, which led him to move his family to the United Kingdom.

• Her maternal grandfather was a resistance fighter during the time Japan ruled the Philippines and survived the Bataan Death March (1942), which influenced her childhood and family.

• Durald’s mother, Peggy Bautista, was born in England and later moved to the United States with the family. Since she had six brothers, Autumn’s childhood was spent in a large Filipino Roman Catholic family with many cousins.
