• He was born in Bordeaux, France, and grew up in Manchester, United Kingdom.

• Singh has Indian and French ancestry. In an interview, he mentioned that his father was an Indian Punjabi and his mother is French. He added,

In the 1960s, my father left Punjab to come to the United Kingdom with a beard and a turban. Can you imagine what the reception was like back then in the 1960s? It was very difficult for him. Over that time, he got a BA, MSc, PhD. He worked his way up. He lost the beard and the turban.”

• When Alexandre was 21 years old, he lost his father. He shared,

I lost my father when I was 21, and it pains me that in some ways I lost my connection to my heritage, that true connection.”

• In an interview, Singh mentioned that initially he didn’t want to pursue a career in the arts.

• However, he enrolled at Oxford University to pursue a degree in fine arts. After that, he did a graduation degree in Visual Arts from Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, New York in 2005.

• Alexandre Singh’s early artworks were made using collage technique inspired by books, magazines, and IKEA catalogs.

• Singh’s artwork has been exhibited throughout Europe and the United States, including the Solomon R.
